i've been on a couple of trips to really pretty places in the past few months and haven't really had a chance to sit down and upload things here, so sorry for spamming deviations. :/

grad school is as busy as ever, with classes, grading, and research taking up all of my time. next semester i will be writing my thesis on alienation and violence among young people in japan. yikes.

my japanese host sister had her baby two months ago and i am sorely tempted to buy 5000 baby things and send them to my little japanese niece 美沙希 (misaki). baby clothes are just so damn cute, and lord knows i won't be having one for the next 500 years.

i did the breast cancer 3day walk here in san francisco at the beginning of oct with and another friend of mine. it was a lot of fun! we got to camp right next to the golden gate bridge in crissy field, which was amazing except for the fact that we froze our asses off every night. there were a bunch of survivors on the walk, so it really meant a great deal to see that we were walking for something concrete and real.

my dad gave me his old pentax me super, so i've been having a lot of fun messing with that, although a lot of the technical stuff is still beyond me. i just sent in two more rolls to be developed (i've been shooting in color ), so we'll see if they turn out or not. it's a totally different world than digital and i'm pretty excited about figuring it out.

hm hmm. i guess that's all i can think of atm. i'm really looking forward to winter break.....
